Third Grade
Third grade at Falling Branch Elementary is an exciting, transitional year! It is the year between the primary and upper elementary grades. Students become more independent and participate in a variety of exciting activities designed around the required SOL's for the grade level. One example includes the Third Grade Greek Olympics where our students are divided into teams that represent parts of Greece and compete against each other to earn “medals” for their team. Two exciting skills third graders learn are cursive and multiplication! In May, our students take the SOLs (Standards of Learning) tests for the first time. Students are tested in Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science. We spend a great amount of time preparing for and reviewing for these tests. Third grade is a wonderful year and students learn so much!
