Hello
F.B.E. family and friends!! I am Mrs. Amanda Sheppard and I committed
to graduate from Craigmont High School in Memphis, Tennessee. I
participated in our high school marching band where I played flute. Our
band was awesome and we participated in many competitions-we even took a
trip to New York City to compete. I was also apart of the drama club
and got to participate in a production called The Final Dragon. Participating in these activities also meant that I had to study hard and get good grades.
After high school, I committed to graduate by graduating with honors
from Radford University with my Bachelors in Elementary Education.
This was a dream come true for me because I’m legally blind. It took so
much hard work and perseverance to get through all of my classes but I
believed in myself and never gave up. I always reminded myself that
anything worth having is worth working hard for. The greatest day of my
life, was when I walked across the floor at graduation and looked to
see my parents’ smiling faces. Not only did I get through school with a
disability but I was the first person to graduate from college in my
family.
I hope that you will commit to graduate-there’s no better feeling!!
